About Me

A young boy sitting on the floor in front of a giant red Lego block display with six circular protrusions, each marked 'LEGO'. The boy is smiling, wearing a Chicago Cubs sweatshirt, and holding a yellow plastic bag.

Born With Curiosity

Ever since I was young, I’ve loved creating. Back then, it didn’t matter if I was arranging chords into a new song, reassembling Legos into something new, or doodling pictures of my favorite creatures; creativity was my release. I remember watching hours of videos just to learn new tricks to improve my creations.

That mindset of pure curiosity and problem-solving hasn’t left me. It's the first tool I reach for, no matter the project.

The Road

My multimedia journey began with my mother’s real estate brand: Courtney Leise Real Estate. I created a cohesive brand image that aligned with her authenticity and style. When I saw that branding increase her leads and business, it motivated me to use my creative skills in a professional setting.

In high school, I became the lead graphic designer for my school newspaper, creating award-winning graphics for the Patchwork Project article series. In the same year, I made a solo photography/videography project called Summer On Polaroid,
which garnered over 100,000 views on TikTok alone.

That curiosity followed me to Iowa State, where I began my first year as a leading contributor to ICANdy, a mental health initiative by the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. I created the main logo, visual style, and hosted the ICANdy Podcast.

In my second year, I was hired as a peer mentor, where I led a charity event for Letters of Love. In addition, I began my role as a resident assistant at Oak-Elm, helping to build community and market events for first-year students. That summer, I started my own business, Songbird Music Decor, creating music media for music fans across the United States. Songbird was part of CyStarters, ISU's premier startup accelerator program, which helped me grow as a business owner and a marketer.

In my third year, I served as the Digital Media Manager for the Golden Heritage Agency, a group that worked to create an advertising campaign for Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo, a luxury resort based in Urbino, Italy. Additionally, I was elected president of Cardinal & Gold Creative Group, a student-run advertising agency, where we created advertising materials for campus organizations. In the summer, I interned at CIRAS, creating strategic social media plans, blog posts, and graphics to help Iowa businesses thrive.

Now

I’m finishing up my final year of college. I’ve continued operating Songbird Music Decor and serving as a resident assistant. I’ve been immersed in Ames’ local music scene, writing music reviews for KURE, the Ames alternative radio station, and volunteering
at “The M-Shop,” a music venue in
Iowa State’s Memorial Union.

Upon graduation, I'm moving to Omaha, Nebraska, where I'm looking to put my skills to work for organizations I believe in.
